Another one bites the dust

So almost all of my gal pals from high school are hitched! Tiare is on her way to the temple this Friday to marry her man and I am so excited for her! I wish we would all get together more often and not just when there is a baby shower, bridal shower, or some other extravaganza. But I am glad that we can just be ourselves and laugh like we always do when we see each other. Shower's are more fun for the late ones! They get the goods from us old timers who have been married for a few years! CONGRATS "T"... I can't wait for your reception this weekend which I know will be spectacular!!

Birthday Lunch

We got together for lunch last week to celebrate my Grandma's birthday. My Aunt Liz was in town and was so excited to see Taryn - pretty much everyone is always excited to see Taryn! My Aunt Liz is deaf so it was fun to get Taryn to show her signs for "more" and "thank you." Hopefully she and I will continue to learn more sign language so we can communicate more with Liz and Dave when we see them!

We love you Liz... and Happy Birthday Grandma!

Yummy Easy Taco Recipe

I got this recipe from Jenn Lofgren who is a friend of mine from our last ward. We had a group get together every month to exchange recipes and bring one to try out. This is one of our regulars that we make because it is so good, has lots of veggies, and is very easy! It makes A LOT so Robbie can actually get a full tummy and have some left over for lunch the next day!

-1 lb. ground beef
-1 med. onion
-1 green pepper
-1 carrot
-1 potato
-1 (11 oz.) can whole kernel corn - drained
-1 pkg. taco seasoning
-salt and pepper to taste

-Finely chop onion, pepper, carrot, and potato
-Brown the meat in a large skillet and add in the taco seasoning.
-Add in all other ingredients and fry together
-We like to use uncooked tortillas from Costco (or Dan's.) Just heat them up in a pan and top with taco mixture - I like to spread cream cheese over them first...mmm - and add cheese and any other taco toppings you choose before tightly wrapping the tortilla.

ENJOY!

14 months

So Taryn is creeping up on 14 months old and is at such a fun...and whiny stage!

Here are a few things she's been up to these days...

- speaking her own language (a cross between Chinese and Arabic)

- eating yogurt, mac and cheese, eggos, mac and cheese, strawberries, watermelon,
and mac and cheese

- loves to say uh-oh especially before she throws food or her sippy cup off her high chair.

- taking one nap instead of two (boo-hoo)

- loves playing on the big step at the pool - with everyone else's toys of course!

- crawling the RIGHT way

- pulls herself up and walks along furniture

- loves monkitty more and more everyday

- laughs when other people laugh

-is a social butterfly at the store - I better teach her "stranger danger!"

-puts her binki in her mouth all by herself

- learning how to say "more" and "thank you" in sign language

- hates getting her diaper changed, getting dressed, putting on pajamas, getting in the high chair, and the car seat - just to name a few.

- has been promoted to the tub from the sink for baths...and actually is ok with it

- "dances" by bouncing up and down while on her knees

- has two molars

- wakes up once a night - still

- makes my heart melt everyday!

I Love you Booga Baby!

Brett's VERY OWN post!

Is that Justin Bobby!?

If anyone is familiar with MTV's "The Hills" then you know who I'm talking about. Mr. weirdo-no manners-hippy dude... AKA - Justin Bobby. I'm pretty sure he made an appearance today in SLC... standing in line for the 4th of July breakfast at Evergreen park. - Or, this guy watches The Hills and is trying to copy Justin Bobby's homeless person style.

What do you think?

The real Justin Bobby

The look-a-like

And there will be more pictures from today's events later! - keep posted.
