the sixth month old post

Yup, she's there already.

6 months since this...

Crazy.

My little Tenley Jane is making time pass by pretty darn quick. We are still head over heels for this one, and I don't think that feeling is going to change anytime soon.

So of course I have to jot down some of my most favorite qualities she has picked up.

- RLS, in her left leg. She loves to kick that one to her own beat. Whether she's just sitting on my lap, or I'm nursing her, or she's in the bouncer watching Taryn... it's kicking.

- Her blankets. Ya know... these kind. She's addicted to them and loves to snuggle one while she sleeps or when she's riding in the car seat. They go where she goes.

- The blonde fuzz that is replacing that dark hair she came with. It's so peachy and perfect and I can't wait for it to keep coming in.

- Her coo-ey laugh. I always nibble at her neck or cheeks and no matter how long I do it she keeps a smile on her face which usually comes with this little laugh that is sooooo cute. I know this won't last forever and right now I can't do it enough.

- Playing with my hair. I'm sure a lot of babies do this, and Taryn did it as well. Whenever I nurse Tenley her hand automatically reaches up to find my hair to pull on or run her little baby fingers through.

- Playing with her feet, and sucking on them too. She's quite flexible and usually does this trick when I'm trying to change her diaper.

- Very much a mama's girl. She is very aware of "stranger danger." Even today at the Dr's office she got whiney and nervous while he checked her out... looking at me like, "mom don't you leave me here!"

- The binki. She has always loved the binki, and man oh man can she go to town on that thing.

- Watching shows. Whether it's baby einstein or more likely one of Taryn's favorite shows, she will want to be facing that direction.

- She can chow down baby food in a blink of an eye. Especially squash. Tonight she actually grunted at me when I didn't spoon it to her fast enough. hahaha

A few of her dislikes:

- getting dressed
- banana baby food
- anytime I walk away and she's watching me
- getting out of the bath
- when Taryn rolls her over and over and over
- not being with or close by mommy

All in all I think I'll keep her :)

Sisters :)

oh ps... As far as her stats go, she's slowly falling into her sister's footsteps.
Today's weight was in the 12th percentile. 14 lbs.
I swear my kids eat.

I'd say I've got a good thang goin

So I have this one friend who is really quite good at taking amazing pictures.
Especially of my girls.
She is pretty awesome because we have this thang going called a trade.
You see... I do her hair and she snaps pics of the ones I love.

I'd say I'm getting the better end of the deal...

So, here is some eye candy that will leave you with a melting heart.
Get's me every time

(ps - These were taken a couple months ago, I'm just slow to share I guess)

Like I said, I'm getting the better end of our deal.

(pps - I'm getting another bargain this Friday up Millcreek canyon where this friend of mine is doing our fall family pictures. Yippee Skippee!!!)

Thanks Jeanette :)

acceptance

"My temporal needs--decorating my house or hitting a certain weight or having things, whatever they are--will never be enough, I will always wish for more. The duty is to accept what I have now, with a heart stuffed of happiness and gratitude. What I have, or what I am right now is perfectly suited for right now. It is 'the best.' "

-words from Cjane... found here.

Man I needed this today. Sometimes I find myself nit-picking at my life. Finding all it's faults, and wants, and more wants. Last night I was doing some major nit-picking and it got pretty ugly. I felt ugly... inside and out.

I was wanting a nice big house with nice new furniture, a nice well manicured yard without weeds growing from every corner.
I wanted to have nice new clothes to dress a nice flat perfect tummy and nice toned legs to go with it.
I wanted all the car troubles to disappear, and to have a nice organized garage to put those cars in.
I wanted a nice new bathroom with a big beautiful jetted tub, and beautiful counters that never get messy.

ya I was wanting the works.

Then I read this today, and realized I DO have the works. I have a wonderful husband who loves me and accepts my faults. I have two beautiful daughters who are healthy and happy and need me. I have food to give them, and am able to meet their needs. I have things, and I've realized it isn't "things" that make life enjoyable. It's how we live and serve, and love others.... as well as ourselves.

So, today I am making a toast to accept the "now" and enjoy it as much as possible.

cheers :)

off to school we go

Taryn has conquered her very first day of pre-school, or "pre-sthool" as she calls it.

She was certain a big yellow bus was going to come pick her up. I have been just as excited about the whole thing. I love getting prepared for back to school.

But I was a little late getting a mini backpack. We have been a bit busy with the last days of summer, so I somehow forgot this big event. Then as I was cleaning things up last night by our washer/dryer area I saw my mini Roxy backpack I got a few years back.

Perfect!

She'll be the "cool" kid at school ;) She was so excited about wearing it! And I was so excited to get her dressed and ready!

Last week we went to orientation and man oh man it was exciting! We saw all the fun toys, decorations, other classmates, and of course Miss Denise!
It was hard to pull away and leave that wonderful place.

So now that all our summer plans are over and the memories have been made... we are onto school days and all the fun new things they will bring!
