A day for Halloween

We spent the day yesterday walking around Gardner Village checking out the witches...Robbie had never actually been to Gardner Village so it was a new experience for him. It was pretty packed with the kiddos being out of school for UEA, but we made the rounds. Robbie was a good sport as I stopped and poked my head in and out of all the little boutiques...I think there was one other dad besides Robbie walking around!

This one is for you Taylor

Later in the evening we carved up some pumpkins! The smell of carving pumpkins reminds me of going with the neighbor kids to the Fassler's house for their annual Halloween party! We'd play pin the nose on the witch, stick our hands into a big pot of guts looking for a certain body part, eat lots of goodies, and end it all with carving pumkins. Those were fun times and fun memories!!!

Happy Birthday Carrie

Robbie's sister just had a birthday and also found out she is expecting a baby BOY this March! YAY a playmate for Taryn!!! Carrie thought for sure she was having a girl...but we had a poll on Sunday evening after dinner and half guessed boy, half guessed girl...my half was right!! HEHE. Anyway, just wanted to wish you a happy birthday Carrie!!!

Robbie and Brooke being good little helpers getting dinner ready

I have the best looking guy in the world!

Dressing up for a night of fun

Our friends the Tebbs had a fabulous costume party! They're house was decorated amazing...filled with spooky skeletons and a really awesome Halloween town. We put Robbie's costume together last minute and I have to say I am very impressed with myself for making it work! Robbie doubted my creativity and was excited when it all turned out! See for yourself...

Our little pumpkin!

My scary Frankenstein husband, Quynn Tebbs (he was Gomez Addams from the Addams family) and his brother Brady Tebbs...I'm sure you can guess who he was!

Me and Ivy...she was Morticia Addams

This picture is pretty dark...but this was the whole group, the only person that didn't dress up was Quynn's dad!

Growing up

So today I thought I'd try some clothes on Taryn that I bought last year at Old Navy after we found out we were expecting a girl...I really thought they would be huge, but THEY FIT!! Well, still a tiny bit baggy and long, but all in all they work. At first I was so excited because now she can wear her first pair of flared denim jeans...but then I thought, this means she is growing and at that, way too fast! It seemed like these clothes I bought not so long ago would never fit her...she would be my little baby forever! But, it was bound to happen and I am loving every stage of every week that goes by. The smiles, the new laughter, the snuggling, the "talking", and the hoping that tonight will be the night we sleep through without any interruptions.

This was the little velour outfit that I showed off to everyone after I purchased it...so warm and snuggly, does it come in my size???

BAD HAIR DAY

Sunday night my mom was pulling out all the Halloween costumes we've collected over the years and we stumbled upon some pretty crazy stuff! Like these wigs, talk about itchy!

Um, I don't think we were camera ready yet!

Please ignore my wretched face in this one!
And Lisa looks like a vampire!...where's Edward?? (for you Twilight readers)
Peace out Amy...

Then Amy put on these sweet boots (they're actually Steve Maddens) and a leather...I mean "pleather" jacket. Could her legs be any skinnier???
Throwing side peace signs is her signature pose

I told Taylor to make a witch face...Oooo really scary Tay

Hmmm...who does Taryn look like more???

Is it really a tough question??? We all know she's a mini version of me, but hey I wanted to see what the computer thought...

Giggly Girl

We had a birthday dinner for Robbie at the Wilson's and when Taryn was "eating" her rice cereal, Brooke walked up slowly to her and Taryn busted up laughing...luckily Margo had her camera close by so we caught some on tape...I'm sure this will put a smile on your face!!!

"The mystery of the laughter in the Saturday morning session of conference"

I got this as an email and wanted to share it with all those who were wondering what the laughter was all about on Saturday morning General Conference session.

The friend said this: "After President Hinckley finished with the sustaining of the officers of the church during the Saturday morning session, Elder Eyring had moved to his new seat on the stand. Unfortunately, they didn't show this on TV, but when President Hinckley turned around, he stood there for a moment looking at Elder Eyring, then picked up his cane and "knighted" him on his shoulder and head.

I love President Hinckley and his great sense of humor! I'm so glad I am a member of this wonderful church, I love the gospel with all my heart!

What I love about FALL

I was so ready for Fall to come around! After the HOT summer we had it was about time for things to cool off. Here are a few of my favorite things about this time of year...

-Cute jackets for those chilly evenings
-Feeling ok about not having a tan
-Turning the AC off and cracking the window...I love waking up and feeling chilly,
then I can snuggle up to Robbie and pull the blankets up!
-My brothers football games
-Wearing tall boots
-Making my Aunt Becky's pumpkin cookies
-Hot apple cider
-Of course the beautiful colors of the leaves changing
-Piles of leaves raked up in peoples yards
-The U games
-My favorite shows start new seasons
-My mom, Amy, and Robbie's Birthdays

Ok...here are my not so favorite things of fall...

-Robbie becoming a football freak
-Getting a cold
-Back to school (I'm all done with school but I still get the back to school anxiety!)
-Days becoming shorter
-The wind
-Early snow storms!

Good thing the positive list is longer! But my number one favorite is pulling out the Fall/Halloween decorations...and this year my friend Kim and I made some new ones!

We got these Witches at the Wood Connection...they were just plain wood cut out in this shape and now they are so cute! I'm so proud of us Kim!

I also got these blocks at the Wood Connection, again they were just plain wood blocks. Wow, I was on a crafty high!

Ok, I can't take credit for making these, but aren't they so cute!!

My Big win from Bunco last year, the trick or treat sign.

And this was the best decoration I made this year...

Her binki is her new best friend

She loves to play with her toes

Robbie does this "dinosaur like" sound that makes her giggle every time!

Time for some real food!

So I've been a slacker with posting...but I was feeling a little under the weather...someone find a cure for the common cold! Anyway, about a month ago Taryn had her 4 month visit and the doc said she's ready for some yummy rice cereal. This was her first go at the stuff and she wasn't too sure about it, but she loves it now...especially at dinner time. She will actually growl at me if I don't get her a spoonful fast enough!

She really didn't know what was going on

Goober face! I love it!!!
