Living in the new

I know I know... I've been M.I.A. for a couple of months now. Where do I begin...

We moved.

422 miles away.

You know that feeling you get the very first week of school. Let's make it a little more stressful by saying it's your first week of junior high. Every class is new, you're nervous about the homework, there are so many new faces, some are smiling... some are serious... some, just don't care. You cling on to anyone that makes you feel at ease. A nice teacher, or an old friend who passes you in the hall.

I know for me, 7th grade was one of the hardest and biggest change's of my life. It may sound silly... but it was.

I feel like I'm starting junior high all over again. But this time, I have to a be a little stronger. I have two kiddos to raise. They look to me for comfort and love. When I'm happy, they feel safe. So as hard as 7th grade was, I did make friends and I did end up having some fun. It took some time, but it happened.

Time...

oh why is it always the thing that makes life so hard. In time, spring will come. In time, I'll go back home to visit family. In time, the blessings from this new job will start to flow. In time, life will feel normal again.

Lately time has felt r.e.a.l.l.y.s.l.o.w.

The girls and I head back in one week! ONE WEEK!!! for my cousin's wedding. I can hardly wait! It's not easy packing up from a home that's 5 minutes from your parents house and heading west... far far west.

I truly am counting my blessings. I love that I get be a stay at home mom. (and let me say, that's exactly what we've been doing) Of course life couldn't just be dandy by leaving our other troubles behind... Robbie's jeep blew a tire on the freeway heading to work last Thursday and thankfully no one was hurt... but that left us with one car. And who needs that car the most? Daddy. So for the past 3 days I've tried to keep my sanity and entertain my kids in this foreign land we now call home.

We explored outdoors yesterday while the sun was out.
It made me excited for warm weather.
We've colored
and painted.
We've watched shows...
and more shows.
We've had snacks
and made cookies.
We've played barbies
and dress ups
We've had tantrums...
and more tantrums.

Hopefully we will be back to two cars sometime this week, then we can explore even more.

I have missed my blog and I promise to keep up! My emotions are so back and forth. One minute I'm so excited to start this new adventure... then I remember we can't go hang out at my mom's house this evening...

but we will next week!!

Stay tuned... pictures will be coming soon :)

It was so fun reading this post! I've been wondering about how you guys have been. I've been thinking a lot about getting out of SLC with my little family and having an adventure, but then I get sad thinking about leaving behind family, friends, and comfortable surroundings! We have to get together when you come in town!!
